Mirrors and Reflections
“We do not rise to the level of our expectations. We fall to the level of our training.”
Doroshea would not look out of place in feudal Japan. When not hidden under his straw hat, his dark hair is loose and free. His beard is neatly trimmed, forming the perfect outline for his confident smile. Obsessed with achieving physical perfection, Doroshea is lean and muscular, and he moves with a stride that subtly indicates that he is always ready for battle; he balances smoothly on the balls of his feet and keeps his form loose, ever at the ready to fall into his signature combat style.
Character Model to be Used: Mirumoto Etsuya
“Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole body and soul can be a true master. For this reason, mastery demands all of a person.”
Doroshea has tried his best to live up to his fathers example as a defender of Amber. Where Gerard defends with raw physical prowess, Doroshea trained himself day after day to be the ideal swordsman. He cannot yet hold a candle to the elder generation, but his devotion is nothing short of impressive, so much so that he was offered the position as the Captain of the Castle Guard. He turned down the job, citing that if he were to defend Amber, he could be “tied to nothing, and thus able to give everything.”
His signature fighting style, the Infinite Blades, is a reflection of his mastery of the art of warfare. On a field of deadly steel, Doroshea is a mobile engine of death. Never still, and constantly moving from sword to sword in fluid motion, he is a fearsome opponent for a small legion, let alone a single individual. This style has led him to become known throughout shadow as the “Sword God,” and he is indeed revered as a god of war on many shadows.
Items of Power
Sword God Blades: Kept conveniently at his side as a sack of ball-bearings, when Doroshea needs his swords, each metal sphere can shapeshift into a lethal katana. He will generally only fight with a few at a time, but will not hesitate to bring their full force to bear against serious opposition.
